So, we're remodeling before we move. I'm excited, but there's a lot of work to do. Hubby took the day off today to get working on remodeling the bathroom. We only have one bathroom so we have to stay at our in-law's place while they're in IL. At least there's not 5 people all living together! Take a look at my blog which is outlining the process of us moving. Here's the most recent http://katday.onsugar.com/3101339.

The Financial Crisis and You: Advice From Jane Bryant Quinn
Yesterday the stock market fell 504 points, the worst one-day drop since the 9/11 attacks. The immediate cause was the bankruptcy at Lehman Brothers, and the sale of Merrill Lynch to Bank of America. USA Today reports that while the problems originated in the real-estate market, the credit crunch "has emerged as a full-blown financial crisis."

Handy Site for Schedulers
http://www.doodle.ch/main.html
This is an awesome site for anyone who schedules meetings for people with multiple calendaring options. In my office, my boss has one calendaring system, then her boss has another. I can't tell who has meetings when and it's just recently gotten more difficult because IT is phasing out our calendaring system. Whew.
I think that this would also work for planning family reunions or just a simple party that you want the maximum number of people to be able to attend.
It's easy to sign up and use and the directions are simple.
Good luck fellow schedulers!

So, Youtube is great, but I found this site that has way better quality! www.vimeo.com has great image quality. Check it out.
Palm Springs 2008!!!
Ok, so I tried this already once and it got erased. That sucked. So here's what I remember from the other night plus some!
The weekend before Memorial Day my girlfriends and I packed our bags and headed to Palm Springs for a weekend we'll never forget! We started a bit late because of a stray cat and one person locking her keys in her house with her carryon including her ID. UG! I was a bit stressed, but not too much. I was on vacay after all!!!
We got to the airport and got all checked in and we were all sitting together. Nice. We had a few drinks and just chilled on the plane down. I watched LMN's Gossip on my iPod while my rowmate read a long book about history. She's odd, I think. Anyway, we approached PS via a bumpy ride, but once we landed it was heaven!!! The air was dry and hot. I usually hate the heat, but we were on vacay after all! The bride (did I mention that it was a bachelorette party) rented the car and told the guy, "oh, don't worry, we just had a few on the plane." So, I signed up to drive too! We had a b*tchin' minivan since there were so many of us and we wanted to make sure we had enough room for the luggage and us! It made us feel old so we became insta-Cougars! Old women on the prowl-roar!!! Not to be confused with the Kilo Cougars--some of our junior high school's mascot. Three of us went to Jr. High and High school together and one also attended, but at different times. So, we could double as youngin's!
We checked into our house and ta-da! LOVERLY!!!!!
HEAVEN! We got some groceries and then hit the pool until it was time to eat. Then we went back into the pool and then it was time to amp it up! Pool partay, yeah! Well, I went to bed about 1/2 way through it. I'm old and sleep with a child is a luxury and after all, I was on vacay!
Well, we got up the next morning and lounged in and around the pool!!!
Loungin'
It kicked serious butt! So nice. I just sat in the pool literally all day long. I've never done that before and it was so rad. Yeah, I said it, It was RAD!
Then we went out. Of course none of the ladies wanted to get ready after another meal that made our tummy's full, but they all got up the gumption to get out once I did a rousing cheer routine from my days as a Raider (or Coug even). Then everyone was ready to go out and we went to the Village. It's a club in downtown (I use the term "downtown" loosely) PS that was like several clubs. There were several bars and rooms to dance or play pool, or just drink or eat. Nice. We got there at like 11:30 so everyone was pretty much already hammered. Since I was the sober driver, I just sat there for a while until the Maid of Honor brought out the balloon animal balloons. Of course we didn't make animals, but we did imitate some parts of animals! Good times. One guy wouldn't leave until I made him a hat. That hat became a hit! Overminute sensation! Woohoo! Then some random guy asked someone in our party who wanted to get served. She yelled that I did! So, I did my cheerleading routine again! This time it was to MC Hammer's Can't Touch This. Yeah, you read that right, Can't Touch THIS! The guy didn't get it though and still tried to hook up with me. Jerk. Clearly I'm married and my routine was NOT a couple's dance! Then he tried to krunk it out, but said he sprained his ankle. I just think he got served. We all went home after getting lost and passed out at 2am.
Saturday was a lot of the same. Pool, eat, go out, but this time we went out to the casino. It was ok. None of the gals were really gamblers like me, but I ended up $100 ahead which was nice because we were going shopping the next day at the outlets.
The PS outlets Kicked Butt. Seriously. It was awesome!!! I loved all the fun outlets that we don't have up here and the weather was nice so I didn't have to run from store to store to keep out of the rain! My fav. outlet had to be --I really can't pick my fav out of Dior, Gucci, True Religion, Saks, Barneys, Furla, etc. Yay!
The rest of the trip was uneventful. We got home and then tried to function at work the next day in the cold Seattle weather.
Birthday Addendum
I almost forgot some of the best (well, funniest) parts of my Birthday Extravaganza Weekend!
Friday night after dinner we went back to the mall to exchange a shirt I got from the in-laws. This specific Macy's didn't even carry that shirt, but someone took back the size that I needed that very same day so I didn't have to look for something else! I just don't wear an extra large any more!!!
Yay for me. We walked around the mall a little more and I got a fabu pair of shoes! Rocketdog, of course. Cute heels that are black with white polka dots. http://www.solestruck.com/rocket-dog-gretal-girl-black-jazz-disco-knit/i... I love them, but by the end of the night at the casino after wearing them all day, my feet hurt. I think that they'd probably hurt no matter what shoes I wore though.
So, as we were leaving, Hubby had the trunk open to put my shirt in it and I ducked under him to put my shoes in there. I had my head all the way in so that I could see to not knock the food over and BAM! the trunk came down on my head...not once, but twice! Hubby tried to shut the trunk not knowing that I was there. Ug, that hurt. Son of a...so I almost cried, but then I thought, "I'm too big to cry...I'm a big girl." So, I just cursed and got into the car. I ended up with a bump, but no bruise so that's good. Still whenever I touch my forehead, it hurts. Yes, I have to touch my forehead to put on lotion and makeup, but I avoid it other than that!
Then, yesterday I came home to another prezzie!!! My friend who lives across the mountains sent me some Arbonne eye cream! Oh, I love this eye cream. She also sent me a precious card and some lipstick.
30 still rocks, but I'm starting to have some senior moments. Geeze. Sorry I forgot these parts.
Dirty 30's Here to Stay! WooHoo!
It began on a Thursday! The next ten years of my life! I woke up singing Happy Birthday to myself. No one else in the house was stirring. There might have been a mouse, but I didn't see one thank goodness for that! After putting my makeup on, Hubby came to wish me happy birthday before he jumped in the shower! Aw, sweet. Before we left for work, Hubby gave me my new yoga mat and gym bag for all my yoga goodies! So wonderful!
I went to work and got some presents! First, my boss brought pastries for my 9:30 am meeting! Then, I she gave me a box of chocolates! Yummy. My other boss brought in tulips to make my cube nice a bright! In the mail, my prezzie from my Brother and Sister in-law arrived and I opened it right away of course! Two belts, a gift card to Target, and a beautiful necklace were each wrapped up in cute paper and placed in a pink leather box...wonder what cow gave up his hide for my pink box!
Work was just normal, but then I came home and went to yoga. Yoga was brutal and started late, but the class sang to me and some of the people even gave me hugs! It was a perfect birthday!
Friday Hubby had the day off and I had an appointment with Trainer. Hubby took Izzy to daycare and then we went to work out. Trainer kicked my butt in the arms. Geeze. It totally made me happy yet extremely tired! I signed up for 6 more sessions! Hubby and I came home and decided while we were in the shower to go to lunch at a favorite pizza place, Tutta Bella! Yummy. On the way to lunch, I started to get a migraine, but I had some exceterine migraine and was fine! We ate delish. pizza and then had some gelato! Yummy to the max! Yummy in my tummy! MMMMM. Can't stop thinking of the wonderful Tutta Bella. Oh, I almost forgot, I went there on my actual birthday the day before too! So good. I say that if you're ever in Seattle, go to Tutta Bella in the Walingford neighborhood! Yummy!
So, Friday, on the way home from Tutta Bella, we stopped at the mall for a little spin. I don't think I bought anything, but it was still fun. That's when it started snowing! Never thought it would snow on my birthday weekend! Well, there it was, pouring down.
Snow on the way home from the mall.
Hubby's friend came over and so did the babysitter and we went out to dinner at the Mexican Restaurant, Azteca. Yummy Arroz con Pollo and Sangria!!!!!!! I know, right, you all wish you were me!
We came home and drank a bottle of wine, oh wait, I drank a bottle of wine while the guys drank beer and then we engaged in a little three way action. Just kidding, but I'm sure I made you want to read on! I did my nails and chattered on Sugar while we all watched that Matt Damon movie about the CIA. What the heck, I can't remember the name...Oh, the Good Shepard. Confusing while drinking wine and doing my nails and chattering on sugar, but still a fine movie. My nails were awesome!
Casino Nails! Woohoo.
Saturday I slept in a little bit and then we got up and played for a while at home. Then we got ready and went to a kid's party about an hour away! It was actually my friend from when I was little's little girl turning one. I met back up with my friend by finding her on Myspace. She used to live four doors down from me when I was growing up. She was like a sister. Then she moved away and we hung out way less. After high school we just drifted apart and she got pregnant, married, preggers again, divorced, married again, preggers again and then we found each other. Wow. Anyhoot, the party was at the YMCA and was tons of fun!
Playing at the Y
I wanted to stay longer, but we had to get Izzy to the In-law's and get up to my party! We jumped a little more on the trampoline and then began the trek back up North. We dropped Izzy off without incident and then we almost got to the freeway when the In-laws called to say that there was no carseat. CRAP! We forgot. Well, they just worked it out and we didn't have to go back! We stopped and got the cake and found the classiest truck ever!
I wish I was this classy.
We got to the hotel, checked in, and then had ice cream cake and did more prezzies!!!!
Good blow!
We loaded into the shuttle and walked right into a bachelorette party! It was funny to see all these already drunk chicks on the bus. One told me my bra was showing and I just thanked her and didn't adjust. I was a bit pissy, but my cleavage was spectacular! Hot mama coming through! One chica announced, "My jacket doesn't have any pockets...that sucks." That summed up her intellegence...nice.
Then my dad, yep, my DAD, put a $1 in the bride's bra as per their scavenger hunt...I said that he should use his teeth, but mom nixed that idea.
When we got to the casino and immediately lost $50 playing 3 card poker. I perused other games and lost some more. I drank a ton of lemon drops though...everyone bought me drinks. It's not like Vegas, you have to pay for the drinks...even when you're gambling. That sucks! I came back to my original table and sustained just about all night. Brother lost $250 and got up...first hand with "Alfredo" and he got a straight flush which paid 40 to 1. Well, bully for him. He was happy and we were all just reeling. Hubby announced, "Don't tell Brother! He'll go out and kill himself!" We told him anyway, and he went to the bar to start the shots!
Three out of 6 of us got comps so we went to eat. Brother kept wondering out loud where his French Dip sandwich was. He was plastered. I wasn't too bad, but I didn't even try to count how many lemon drops I had. I'm guessing a dozen or so. Nice. After some yummy seafood pasta, it was already 2 am and time to go home. The shuttle back to the hotel took forever because there were a bunch of stops! Ug, we didn't know what was going on and we were tired...the same jacket chica was on the shuttle home! Brother kept saying jerky things to her which were funny, but I can't really recall what he actually said. So, she was silent, but Brother kept saying stuff.
We rocked like party stars and then tried to sleep it off. Brother...stupid brother, woke up early and then woke us all up. "The mall is open, let's get going." Yes Sirree! We then went shopping and I bought my Spring/Summer bag! I love it!
My new bag from the Coach outlet!!!
Then we came home and picked Izzy up and we all took a long nap! Bliss, right there.
So far, 30 rocks!
